Color Gamp Workshop

Color Gamp Workshop update:  The Color Gamp Workshop was hard work. We all learned alot about winding warps and measuring wefts, which takes a long time to do. We learned about the primary pigments, magenta, yellow and cyan, then the secondary and tertiary to give us 12 colors of thread. This was part one of weaving a color gamp. Work is continuing at the Weaving Study Group meetings held the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays with winding warps and wefts as well as planning how to weave it. Stay tuned to hear more about those woven color gamps as work continues.

On Saturday March 18, the Guild will present a Color Gamp Workshop at the Huntsville Main Library Auditorium.  Explore color possibilities by weaving a color gamp. Learn about color theory and experiment  by weaving with different color combinations. Learn which color combinations provide iridescent effects. Weavers can use a rigid heddle  or  multi-shaft loom to weave their color gamp.  No experience is necessary. Register by March 10th if you plan to attend. See attached flyer for more info. gampflyer
