Fleece or Animal/Silk Yarn Dyeing and Oldest UFO Contest
March 21 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm CDT
Do you have a fleece or animal/silk fiber yarn you can’t use because it’s the wrong color? Do you want to learn how to dye wool or other animal fibers and yarn? For our monthly meeting on Saturday March 21st the Huntsville Fiber Guild will host a fiber and yarn dying workshop from 9:00-3:00 at a member’s weaving studio in Toney, AL. We’ll be using fiber reactive dyes and vinegar to dye animal and silk-based fibers and yarn brought in by attendees. There is a $5.00 supply fee to pay for the dyes. The workshop is open to adults and youth ages 14 and up.
If you’re not into fiber dying we’ll be working on fiber UFOs (unfinished objects). We’ll have an oldest UFO contest where the person who finishes the oldest UFO project will get a prize. So get working on those old UFOs so you can finish them up at the March 21st workshop. Contact the guild for more information and for the workshop location address.
