Spin in Public Day Celebration
September 21 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm CDT
Join us for the 2nd Huntsville SPIN in Public Day held at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, co-hosted by SPARKLE Studio and The Foldout Cat Studio with a Sheep to Shawl Competition hosted by the Huntsville Fiber Guild.
Admission is FREE but we ask that you please reserve a ticket for each person in your party so we can make sure we have nametags and seating for everyone. You can reserve tickets here: https://www.facebook.com/events/566886877133763/
We will provide chairs, but they are the folding plastic ones the Mill has available. If seating comfort is important to you, you are very welcome to bring your own chair/stool/other seating option with you.
* Sheep to Shawl Competition
* Door Prizes
* Scavenger Hunt
The focus for this yearly event is on spinning and weaving, but fiber artists of all persuasions are welcome to join us for a fun-filled day of fiber activity! Bring your spinning wheel, a small portable loom, a
project of some kind to work on, a book to read, or just spend time talking with other fiber enthusiasts!
Watch as teams compete to see who will be first to take washed, unprocessed fleece and turn it into a shawl by the end of the day. Watch the talented team members card/comb, spin, and weave alpaca and wool fiber. You’ll even be able to vote on the People’s Choice Award for your favorite finished shawl.
