World Wide Knit in Public Day
June 10, 2017 @ 5:00 am - 11:00 am CDT
Saturday June 10 is World Wide Knit In Public Day (WWKIP). We have two local opportunities presented by Hook-a-Frog and Sparkle Studio (Crochetville). Huntsville Fiber Guild members are encouraged to take advantage of both or either of these events. Bring your current projects. Come and go as you want throughout the day.
Hook-A-Frog will celebrate WWKIP, Saturday June 10, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the Downtown Madison Gazebo, 14 Front Street, Madison (at the corner of Front Street and Main Street). The first 20 people will receive goodie bags, and there will be hourly door prizes and a grand prize drawing at 2:00 p.m. All fiber enthusiasts and new crafters are welcome. Knit, crochet, spin and/or weave – share our crafts with each other and the community. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance and the Whistle Stop Sweet Shop. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll go to Hook-A-Frog just around the corner.
Sparkle Studio (Crochetville) will celebrate WWKIP, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., at Flying Monkey on the second floor of Lowe Mill, 2211 Seminole Drive, Huntsville. Take the stairs or elevator to the second floor. Flying Monkey is in front of the theater. Yarn and patterns will be available to make a pair of breast prostheses for Knitted Knockers. These will be given for free to local women. There will be door prizes and a limited number of goody bags. You’re welcome to bring in food and drink from any of the Lowe Mill vendors. If you want to work outside on the Lowe Mill grounds, please bring a chair from home. Stay all day or come and go as you please, enjoying the many other events taking place at Lowe Mill that day.
