World Wide Knit in Public Day
June 10 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday June 10 is World Wide Knit In Public Day (WWKIP). We have two local opportunities presented by Hook-a-Frog and Crochetville. Huntsville Fiber Guild members are encouraged to take advantage of both or either of these events. Bring your current projects. Come and go as you want throughout the day.
Hook-A-Frog will celebrate WWKIP, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the Downtown Madison Gazebo, 14 Front Street, Madison (at the corner of Front Street and Main Street). The first 20 people will receive goodie bags, and there will be hourly door prizes and a grand prize drawing at 2:00 p.m. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance and the Whistle Stop Sweet Shop. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll go to Hook-A-Frog just around the corner.
Crochetville will celebrate WWKIP, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., at Flying Monkey on the second floor of Lowe Mill, 2211 Seminole Drive, Huntsville. Take the stairs or elevator to the second floor. Flying Monkey is in front of the theater. Yarn and patterns will be available to make a pair of breast prostheses for Knitted Knockers. These will be given for free to local women. There will be door prizes and a limited number of goody bags. Bring your own lunch, or purchase snacks and drinks from one of the Lowe Mill venues. There will be a limited number of chairs available.
See www.wwkipday.com for news on the national event, and these two local events.
